My mum is so so special because she was also my grandmother. She brought up both my brother and I after her youngest was just about to leave home. She took on all responsibilities of a parent along with my grandad and if she were still here today she would be so so proud of her 3 grandchildren... Oh and me!!

as it is with most mums mine si just amazing - the extra mile she goes for not just family but friends and total strangers is inspiring - we adore and love her dearly - le xox
My Mum is special because no matter how many times I need to move back in with her she always welcomes me with open arms and a bowl of homemade gnocchi - my favourite!
My Mum is special as she is always there with sound advice for me, whether I take it is a different story.

My mum works full time in her own garden centre. Her day begins at six and some nights doesn't finish till six thirty and that's just at the shop. Yet she always has time and energy for my kids her grandchildren. If I'm sick she cooks and takes care of me as well as kids. I don't tell her enough how amazing she really is. I hope that when my kids grow up I can offer them and their families the same support she offers me.

My mum is so special because she is so compassionate and has a huge heart. I love that she would do anything for anyone in need. She is also an awesome grandmother! I love these qualities!

my mom is so special because she strives to keep involved in my life and my girls' lives even though she is thousands of miles away - skype, email, phone calls and little packages so we feel connected and loved!
My Mum is so special that, even though she passed away three years ago, the legacy she left behind touches so many every day. She taught everyone who met her the importance of humility, dignity, kindness, selflessness, and true love. But this was tempered by the importance of not taking yourself too seriously and, most importantly, to not sweat the small stuff - it'll all look better after a cup of tea!.
I don't think there is enough room to tell you about my mother. She was widowed when I was 10 - and that was just the first time. After that she raised me by myself, not an easy task in those days. She also managed money well enough that she bought a HOUSE - just by doing other peoples housework and taking in ironing. She never rested. After I was married she remarried, a lovely man. Unfortunately he got cancer and she nursed him for 2 years before he died. She then looked after her elder sister who also died of cancer. Being the youngest in the family my mother has seen 5 of her brothers and sisters pass away. She married again - and he lived only 3 months, going into hospital the day after they married. Mum has seen so much death and suffered so much hardship, but she always puts other people first, looking after the aged and making dolls clothes to send to her great granddaugthers - one whom she has never seen, and one who she has not seen since she was 6 months old (they live in Dubai). She is the strongest woman I know.
My mum is so special because she works as a mental health psychologist, listening and caring for those of us who need it most! When my brother was diagnosed with Schizophrenia Mum cared for him while still working with others full time, and still had the emotional strength to come home after a full day and listen to me as a teenager complain about boys and homework. When I was in grade 9 she was diagnosed with Multiple Schlorosis and still works full time with people with mental illness. I couldn't do that job! i appreciate her so much but don't get to tell her how much! oh- and she makes me vegetarian goodies every week just so she can be sure i'm looking after myself.

When I got cancer 3 years ago, my mum flew out from the US for 5 weeks ... to help take care of me and my husband and my 8 month old little girl while I had chemotherapy. I loved watching her relationship with my little girl grow, and watching her become a part of our everyday life.
I miss her, living so far away.
PS. I'll tweet the contest for a second entry :)
My mum is special because she is an alien. It's difficult to prove but true all the same.

My mum is pretty special because she's a free spirit. She's as comfortable dining at an inn high in the Himalayas or riding an elephant in India as she is making pancakes after a sleep-over with the grandkids. She encourages all four of her children to adventure, and I think that's special. :)
My mum is so special because she is my mum. I will always treasure everything about my mum and I know how much she has sacrificed throughout our lives to be the best mum she could possibly be. I LOVE MY MUM!
