Creative Spotlight Events

The Brisbane creative scene has come of age and we are revelling in the variety of events and workshops now on offer to nurture creative business.

Over the coming weeks, Queensland Arts Council, Creative Generator SEQ and Brisbane City Council will present a series of ‘Creative Spotlight’ networking events across Brisbane on Wednesday 26th October and Wednesday 2nd November 2011.

At both events, the spotlight will be shone on 4 artists and arts organisations who are leaders in their field and give them an opportunity to give those attending some insight into their creative journey. What was there path? How did they turn a creative concept into a reality? Did they get a lucky break or was it just hard work and a passion for their artform? You will also have the opportunity to ask each speaker questions during a special Q&A following each presentation.
The evenings will also be an opportunity to network with artists and arts workers from across the city.
Events will be webcast via www.flyingarts.org.au/ChannelV3

The [Social] Networking Event

How to connect with virtually every artist in the world!

The Creative Generator SEQ and Queensland Arts Council invite you to attend a free [Social] Networking Event to be held during February, March and April 2011 at various locations throughout South East Queensland. Artists from the Sunshine Coast, Moreton Bay, Redlands, Scenic Rim, Lockyer Valley, Somerset, Logan, Ipswich and the Gold Coast are encouraged to attend.

The evenings will give artists from across all art forms an opportunity to network with other artists and arts organisations, and aims to promote future partnerships and collaborations.

The Creative Generator for South East Qld, Tim McGee, will also speak about how to market and sell work online and how to use the power of Social Networks like Twitter and Facebook to help you connect with virtually every artist and customer in the world.

All Events are free but registration is required so please click here to register

Artists and arts organisations are also invited to ‘share their wares’ so bring along a brochure, program or some ‘small’ example of your work. Light refreshments will be provided.
