After months of hard work sewing, painting, paper-crafting and jewellery-making, almost 50 BrisStylettes arrived at St Augustine's Church Hall, Hamilton in the early hours of the morning on Saturday 4 July to set up shop for the BrisStyle Indie Designers Market.

Ten minutes in and the masses were there ready to support handmade.

The outdoor stalls were hit first by the huge turnout followed closely by crowd jamming in the hall.

It was a beautiful Brisbane winter day, the wind dropped, the sun was shining, and Brisbanites enjoyed a day of shopping, acoustic music, strong coffee and the most divine little cupcakes from Tabitha's Place.

After the first hour the BrisStylettes were in awe as Brisbane shoppers embraced everything handmade and indie. Sales flowed till well after midday when the crowd slowed down and we were all finally able to take a deep breath, have a hot coffee... but alas not a cupcake in sight - completely sold out!!

Thanks also to the other BrisStyle committee members Bel, Ali, Robyn, Bec and Rebecca who continue to work away in the background to make BrisStyle the best that it can be.

what a wonderful day to showcase the amazing talent that brisbane designers have to offer! A couple of my girlfriends and I had a great day oohing and aahing over the gorgeous products - i had to stop myself from buying everything there!!! Also fuelled my new hobby of adding designers to my favourites page on my computer. whenever i need a dose of designer style i browse through and imagine if i had a million dollars what i could buy!!!

Congrats to everyone. I have heard about the big success of the day. I wish I could have made it. I am also sooo glad that the xmas market is not the same day as The Handmade Expo. It means that I will def be there..I have already placed it in my diary.

Thanks heaps
Liesa

A super day and this post perfectly captures how fantastic it was! Congrats to all the stall holders and organisers! Bravo! Go BrisStyle!

I'll start saving up for the next market. I hope to have more pennies in my pocket for that one than I did on Saturday...so frustrating wanting to buy so much more than my budget allowed!

Great post Bec. I had the best day on the promo table. Who could've believed that there is something more fun than selling one's own wares. I'm off now to encourage Rosie from "I Can't Sew" to join BrisStyle
