Tricia Smout was the 2012 Artist-in-Residence at Brisbane Botanic Gardens at Mt Coot-tha. During the year she created many innovative collaborative artworks, using a wide variety of materials & techniques. Many of these will be on display in the Ann Street foyer of City Hall, and Tricia would love to tell you all about them.
Come and see the “Flowers of Friendship” hangings with 495 squares created by 355 people, aged 2 to 91. There are also 250 gorgeous decorated envelopes from all over the world, mixed media books, embroideries, collage, origami and many other projects.
Felicity Clarke has been a softsculpturer and mixed media artist for over 15 yrs, originally making Artist bears and animals for collectors and museums around the world, and creating mixed media art pieces on canvas, art quilts, high relief artwork and 3D pieces for exhibitions, sales and on a commission basis, around Australia and overseas.
After discovering needlefelting about 6 years ago, Felicity has honed her skills in drawing with wool and specialize in creating bespoke modern heirlooms in the form of one-of-a-kind shawls, scarves, brooches, jewellery, bags and hats.
Each is created from high quality materials from silk, cashmere, pure wool, eco cottons and a range of designer linens and knits. Each design is unique ,with imagery created from pure merino wool and silk fibres.
