What We're Reading.....

Here at 'BrisStyle HQ' we've been devouring the latest issues of Peppermint magazine and *bespoke* zine. Have you read them yet! Both of these publications just get better and better with each issue.

Issue 13 of Peppermint is titled 'Go Your Own Way' and is jam packed with pages and pages of autumnal splendour. From the latest in sustainable and ethical fashion from Australia and abroad (set across two stunning fashion shoots and numerous features and interviews), to the eco luxury of Balinese tourism and the fulfilment of alternative travel, this issue is certainly one for the senses - and you’d be quite sensible to grab yourself a copy! *bespoke* Issue 3 - Out Now!

The much anticipated third issue of *bespoke* zine is out now. The beautiful cover design was created exclusively for *bespoke* by illustrator, Ali J.

Amongst a bundle of other crafty reads there are some great feature articles in issue 3 including a 'handmade' interview with artist and illustrator Courtney Brims, and an in-depth look into the world of artists passionate about working in grayscale. There's even a DIY tutorial for making your very own resin beads.

*bespoke* - Issue 2 OUT NOW!

Issue 2 of *bespoke* zine has just been released! *bespoke* is a Brisbane-based, A5, professionally printed, full-colour Australian zine all about handmade, vintage, art, photography and living a creative life. Readers of *bespoke* also enjoy reading frankie, Peppermint and Mixtape.

*bespoke* Issue 2 has a limited edition print run of 1,000, and is already stocked in over 20 places throughout Australia. So get in quick! There are a total of 4 issues planned for 2011.

*bespoke* zine

There's a new kid on the craft block - *bespoke* zine!

*bespoke* is a brand new Aussie indie zine all about handmade, vintage, photography, craft, art, micro-business and much, much more. It is edited and published by BrisStyle member Jessica Van Den of EpheriellDesigns.com - herself a crafty businesswoman and handmade advocate. And, unlike many of the new e-zine's popping up, *bespoke* is a lovely tactile A5 package - yep, printed in full colour and delivered to your door!

So, what prompted Jess to start *bespoke*? "The thought just came to me one night - that I would love to make a magazine, something tangible that could spread the word about the awesome craft community I found myself a part of. As I am the 'jump in first figure it out later' type, the next day I announced my plans online, and the support was overwhelming! Months later, and after an enormous amount of help and support from the handmade community, Issue 1 of *bespoke* is printed and ready to go!"

Full of interviews, stories, art and photography features, micro-biz advice, tutorials and product features, *bespoke* aims to inspire, nourish, and support the handmade community.
