Nadia Sunde is being hailed as a 'breath of fresh air' in the emerging Australian kindie indie scene. 'Deliciously heart-warming and soulful', she plays real music for kids and grown-ups who want to enjoy something a little more rootsy and organic. Nadia's new album, Homespun, appeals to people of all ages, with 'The Goat and The Goose' being awarded 3rd place in the children's category of the 2009 International Songwriting Competition. Nadia's songwriting is intelligent and soulful, her voice is deliciously warm and resonant, the melodies are infectious and as a performer she is quite simply...captivating! Another hot entertainment act who will be playing this Saturday at the BrisStyle Indie Mother & Child Market is wheeleR. wheeleR is a Brisbane band of brothers who deliver a fresh mix of indie pop-rock featuring melodic guitar, meaningful lyrics and a healthy dose of teen angst. The band is comprised of the three Wheeler brothers, Knox (songwriter/singer/guitarist), Flaxton (drums, harmonica, vocals) and Xane (bass/vocals).
Despite the brothers having an average age of 13, they have had a very busy year. In June 2010 they won the Under 18 category of the national 'RockIt' songwriting competition, with their independent debut single, ASAP. The competition was judged by Marcia Hines. They also took out the 'RockIt' People's Choice Award, having received the greatest number of votes in the online poll. The band's debut single, ASAP, is now available on iTunes and they are currently in pre-production for their debut EP, with a scheduled release date of January 2011.
Don't miss out on seeing wheeleR at the BrisStyle Indie Mother & Child Market this Saturday. They will be playing at 12 noon and 1pm.
