Starting a small business can be a very daunting process! Luckily for us there are many organisations out there who are making it their mission to make it that little bit easier. Brisbane City Council's Visible Ink Youth Program in partnership with Widebay TAFE and Edgeware Creative Entrepreneurship have just announced the start of their New Business Support Program.

Grow your ideas :: Grow a better Brisbane

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE.....the New Business Support Program is for socially-committed Brisbanites of all ages who are interested in starting a new business that makes a real difference, or creating new revenue for an existing business. If you have a business idea that you think will make a positive contribution to Brisbane then the Brisbane City Council's Visible Ink Youth Program would like to hear from you. While the Council's Youth Program is supporting the initiative, participation from people of all ages is welcome!

WHAT'S IT ABOUT.....There are 3 key elements to the program.

1. BUILD YOUR BUSINESS: Six, free, catered, fun-filled workshops that will lead you to a one page business plan and a wealth of information and tools to accelerate your ideas.

2. WORKSHOPS AND NETWORKING EVENTS: From August 2012 to May 2013, additional affordable workshops will be offered to meet the needs of anyone developing ideas and businesses that are making Brisbane a better place to live. Free Networking events will be held every 3 months to bring like minded people together to share ideas, resources and networks.

3. OFFICE SPACE AND MENTORING: With the support of Council’s Youth Program, those participants from the BYB workshops who are under 30, will be eligible to apply for 12 months of supported office space (with specialized coaching) in Fortitude Valley. You must participate in BYB to be eligible for Office Space (available from July 2012).

For more information about the program and for workshop dates visit the Visible Ink website here.
To apply, contact Michael Doneman on 0402 394 166 or email info@edgeware.com.au by Tuesday June 5th.
